As 4thGen's Co-Founder, Val oversees the development and delivery of tailored risk mitigation strategies, leveraging the 4thGen SME Team to meet the unique requirements of each client.
Val ran security, intelligence, and counterintelligence operations as a State Department Diplomatic Security Special Agent and CIA Operations Officer. Twenty years penetrating foreign intelligence targets and recruiting sources (insiders) provided him an intimate understanding of the insider risk management domain. Following his service, he co-founded a cybersecurity joint venture and developed insider threat programs for leading private and public sector organizations. He works with the US Intelligence Community on innovative personnel security and intelligence solutions. He holds a BA, MS, MBA, and CISSP, CEH, PMP, and CERT ITVA certificates.

David is a serial entrepreneur in the enterprise risk management space. His 25 years of professional experience has spanned six continents, and he has supported the safety of more than 150 families, to include over 10 percent of the Forbes 400, as well as the security programs of more than 120 multinational corporations, to include 20 percent of the Fortune 100. As such, his expertise is now sought after by multinational corporations, high-net-worth family offices, and senior executives from business, NGOs, and the U.S. government. His companies have achieved Inc. 5000, Entrepreneur360™, and "Best Security Solution" by both Private Asset Management (2x) and Family Wealth Report. He holds a BA from Duke University.
